Practical skills for neighborhood resilience

Every Wednesday through Saturday, our workshop tables open for hands-on instruction in carpentry, domestic repair, community food preparation, and youth trade mentorship. All materials, hand tools, and safety gear are provided on site.

Youth Apprenticeship

Family Hearth & Garden

Instruction in basic woodworking, small engine maintenance, home weatherization, and bicycle restoration. Participants work on communal hub projects and personal repairs alongside seasoned local craftsmen.

Structured weekly mentorship matching teenagers with neighborhood makers, cooks, and technicians. Young adults build applied trade portfolios, tool literacy, and dependable workplace references.

Cooperative batch canning, cold-frame food cultivation, and shared evening suppers. Families rotate cooperative childcare while learning budget meal planning, sewing repairs, and seasonal garden management.

Share What You Know

Review the weekly bulletin of scheduled morning bench hours, kitchen intensives, and weekend youth sessions suited to your current goals.

Reserve a bench slot online or arrive thirty minutes before session start for walk-in registration. No previous trade background is required.

Pick up tools under the guidance of neighborhood leads. Work on active community repair items or bring broken household goods from home.

Once you master a technique, step into a peer mentor role for next month's cohort. Every participant eventually becomes an instructor.

Teach a trade or suggest a session

If you have a practical craft to share or want to request a specialized tool clinic, our organizing committee meets weekly.
